MODEL BASIS

Assumptions

  • Age is calendar days from received_date to the selected as-of date.
  • Buckets are 0–30, 31–60, 61–90, 91–180, and 181+ days.
  • Each row is an inventory layer; multiple layers for one SKU remain separate.

Frequently asked questions

Can I analyze lot-level data?

Yes. Keep each lot or receipt layer on its own row; duplicate SKUs are preserved.

What happens to future dates?

They are rejected because they produce negative age relative to the as-of date.

Is unit cost required?

No. Without it, quantity still summarizes correctly and value is shown as unavailable.
