Repeated rack layout

Calculate one consistent rack type at a time.

Planning only: never infer structural rack capacity from this arithmetic. Use the lowest verified engineered limit.

How to use this tool

  1. 01

Count usable bays, storage levels per bay, and pallet positions per level.

  2. 02

Enter the engineered maximum load per pallet position and current occupied positions.

  3. 03

Use the result as a planning estimate only and verify every structural constraint.

Built for real planning work

  • Estimate capacity for a rack expansion
  • Reconcile position count with WMS master data
  • Check occupancy using a consistent denominator

Assumptions

  • Every included bay and level has the same number of usable positions.
  • Nominal load is positions multiplied by the per-position limit.
  • Floor positions are included only if entered as a storage level.

Frequently asked questions

Does a floor pallet count as a level?

Include it only when it is a designated, usable pallet position and your counting convention treats it as a level.

Is nominal load the safe rack load?

No. It is only arithmetic based on your input. Use manufacturer or qualified-engineer documentation for safe limits.

What if bays have different layouts?

Calculate each rack type separately and add the verified position totals.
